Customer had problems opening vehicle with remote key, had key battery changed.

Spare key worked fine.

 

After 2 weeks both keys failed to open vehicle

Now both keys will not open vehicle - access through passenger door with emergency key

Local fast fit told customer that vehicle battery was faulty and required replacing?

Battery replaced yesterday without success.

 

Insert key - will not turn - no warning lamps

Plug in using X431 get access to body, panel but no engine - loads of power and comms related codes.

Obviously some systems can be accessed without ign on to read and clear codes but not DAS.

 

To me the key is not being recognised BUT

How would you be able to turn on ignition to start fault interrogation if for example you had a reader fault or ignition switch fault if it cannot recognise key?
